December 11: God’s providence and human sharing

Matthew 3:4

Now John wore clothing of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

The notion that God provides is a challenging one.  John lived off the land but among the consequences of the debacle in Genesis 3 is the requirement to till the land.  In a world driven by mass production and multinational corporations rethinking where our food comes from, how God provides and how we provide for each other some communities are coming up with creative solutions.

Like Ted Finley, Pam Warhurst describes the renewal taking place in her home town.  How do such projects reflect the hope we have in the coming renewal of all things?
